Photo taken on my trip to Amsterdam in September 2009. Amsterdam’s love affair with the bicycle is something to behold – Portland, far and away America’s best bike city, has a 6.5% bicycle commute rate. In Amsterdam, it approaches 40%. They have a 2,500 space bike parking lot at the main railway station and EVERYTHING and EVERYONE gives way to bikes. Simply amazing stuff. Click on the image for a larger view.
