A while ago, I posted a simple logo that I had created for the impending birth of my first child to Facebook. One of my friends, Lindsey, remarked – tongue in cheek – how cool it would be if I was her parent and made her an awesome logo. Just a little throw away remark that didn’t mean anything. Except my little designer brain kept playing with this one visual idea based on her surname: Watts.

Critique: Doctor Who 2010 logo
Let me just start this critique by saying that I love Doctor Who, both the classic and the “New Who” series. However, the previous logo for the series left a lot to be desired: sort of a long, narrow surfboard with the name set an extremely narrow typeface (akin to Futura Condensed, if not that exact face). Definitely not in keeping with the quirky, mysterious ethos of the series.
