Port Arthur Route, Texas, 1896

$27.00$40.00

A superb late 19th Century railroad/real estate advertising poster, depicting Uncle Sam discovering “the New South” with the aid of his searchlight. Beneath him, trains from all over America converge on Kansas City, full of people tired of droughts, blizzards and cyclones – ready for a new start in Arkansas and Texas. The map is filled with beautiful detail, and the advertising copy at the bottom right is worth reading as well.

Available in two sizes: 33″ wide by 22″ deep (plus a 1″ white border on each side); and 23″ wide by 15.4″ high (plus a 0.5″ white border on each side).

Each poster is printed on-demand using fully archival, UltraChrome inks on Moab Lasal Matte, a beautiful, brilliant white, 230gsm (11 mil) alpha cellulose paper which is acid- and lignin-free. Each print is carefully inspected, wrapped in pH-neutral paper, then rolled and placed in a sturdy chipboard tube for shipping.
